Cantinho do Avillez - Restaurant Suggestion
There is a new and fresh restaurant from one of the best Portuguese chefs - José Avillez. It’s called “Cantinho do Avillez”.
After Michelin star recognition at the historic Tavares restaurant, chef José Avillez decided to create his own little spot where he could present a simpler and varied cuisine but with the expected touch of sophistication.
The result is this small, welcoming and comfortable space, with a bar where you can also sample some traditional dishes.
The décor features tiles and vintage lighting, and the reasonable prices invite regular visits.

Friday Night
After this rainy day there is nothing better than enjoying a cocktail in a warm and unique place. It seems that I am talking about our terrace but I’m not, concerning that it is Friday I think that you should go out!
The place that I am talking is called “Le chat qui pêche”. It’s a modern bar, all made of glass known for having a beautiful view to the river and for his famous cocktails.
It’s situated next to the Museum of Antique Art – Rua das Janelas Verdes - 15 min walking from TheHOUSE.

Rotas das Sedas - Restaurant suggestion
Dear Guests,
There is a new secret place next to TheHOUSE: Rota das Sedas.
This place (which includes a wonderful terrace) is an old silk factory that operated until the mid-19th century. That past and the Silk Road inspired the name but the cuisine is completely Portuguese without any Asian influences. It's served in a buffet at lunchtime but there's also à la carte service offering a variety of dishes with a curious mixture of ingredients (but it remains open in the afternoon for lighter meals). You just need to cross the park in front of the Basílica, walk down the Avenida Álvares Cabral and once in Rato square turn to the second street on the right side – R. da Escola Politécnica, n 231. And that’s it.

Pharmacia - Restaurant suggestion
If you want to have a nice dinner in a unique place “PHARMACIA” is the best option!
Located in the Pharmacy Museum by the Miradouro de Santa Catarina, this restaurant's décor is inspired in the pharmacies of the past.
The menu consists of traditional Portuguese "petiscos" (small dishes/"tapas") and the ambiance is relaxed.
There is also a bar serving cocktails made with Portuguese wines.
It does not close after lunch, meaning you may also show up for a mid-afternoon snack. You just need to take the E28 and go down in Sta. Catarina.

JAZZ NIGHT
Today I suggest two very good shows for Jazz fans.
The first show starts at 7pm in Largo de São Carlos (Chiado) and presents : The Art of the Big Band. One hour later, you just need to walk down the street, towards the Chiado Museum for your second show: Sei Miguel.
While enjoying Jazz music I challenge you to try our Portuguese typical canned food - Conservas. The museum cafeteria has the best in Lisbon and offers a vast list of Portuguese wine.
You can not miss this!
